The Salt Marshes and their villages
Kervalet, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful salt marsh villages in the region, is built on a rock emerging from the salt marshes where you will find stone houses, typical of salt marsh habitat.
Lose yourself in the alleyways of Trégaté, a charming salt marsh village built high on a rock. As you wander through its narrow streets, you'll discover stone houses, a bakehouse, a fountain, a granite calvary, and its superb 18th-century dormer windows.
Next comes the village of Kermoisan and its famous water tower covered with a fresco depicting the work of salt workers. Take the rue du vieux Moulin where the village expands with pretty houses, many of which have gardens hidden behind their facades, before discovering a green and wild landscape crisscrossed by dry stone walls.
The last village on your route will be Roffiat , where the houses are tightly packed together to protect them from the wind. Admire its curious wooden cross, adorned with thirteen hearts recalling the twelve apostles and Christ, as well as a statuette of Our Lady of Happiness.
